FALL 2024 Season Training (Tentative dates and locations)
Remaining New Regional Referees (for 10U and older games):
- 9/5 Thu 6 -9PM: R83: Regional Referee in-person companion course - Pismo Coast Assoc of Realtors
- 9/8 Sun 2 -5PM: R83 Regional Referee in-person companion course - Pismo Coast Assoc of Realtors
(**** must complete all volunteer requirements below 'before' attending one of the above meetings ***)
Referee Schedulers:
- 10U/12U/14U games: CLICK HERE (Username/Password: ref ) (do not sign up for your child's game)
- 7U/8U games: CLICK HERE (Put your name in the cell below the games you will referee; ie home games)
Volunteer Requirements These are the steps to become a volunteer referee (that must be completed before attending the in-person class training - online courses are all found in AYSOU (accessible via your account Volunteer pg on our website)
- Sterling Background check - annual (CA state requirement for risk status for 18+ years old)
- Live Scan Fingerprinting (for 18+ years old; CA state requirement, once only)
- Safe Sport (CA state requirement with yearly refreshers for 18+yrs old )
- AYSO Safe Haven (required once only)
- Concussion Awareness (required once only)
- Sudden Cardiac Arrest (required once only)
- Regional Referee training (required only once)

Youth referees are needed! (Earn community service hrs for AGHS)
*Reminder: all teams 10U & above must have at least one trained/certified referee earning a total of 35 points (typically 13 games) in order for their team to qualify for the end of season Ken Claassen tournament in mid-November

REGIONAL REFEREE (10U) TRAINING
(must be 12 years or older)
1. Register as a volunteer: Login/Register on wesite then Click 'Volunteer' then 'Find Volunteer Roles, then '2024 Volunteer Season', then 'volunteer' checkbox and 'View Selected Positions'. Click the arrow until you see 'Referee' and hit 'Select' then click the image above 'Sign up a registered user' then select your user and continue to fill out the form.
After filling out any required form items you will see a list of items that need to be completed. For more detailed steps visit How To/Troubleshooting page
2. Make sure you are up to date on the following required trainings:
Risk Status (aka Sterling Background Check) (yearly - respond to email from them)
AYSO Safe Haven course (required once only)
CDC Concussion Awareness (required once only)
Sudden Cardiac Arrest (required once only)
Safe Sport (CA state requirement; requires yearly refresher after initial course)
Live Scan Fingerprinting (once only; CA state requirement specific to AYSO, fingerprinting results from other organizations can't be used)
3. Click the AYSOU button on your Volunteer page, select Training Library; Select Refereeing; Select Regional Referee Online + In-Person Companion Course. YOU MUST COMPLETE THE ONLINE Regional Referee course on AYSOU AND pass the exam at the end of the course BEFORE YOU ATTEND one of the IN-PERSON CLASSES above (Sun 8/18, Tue 9/3, or Sun 9/8) Print out or screenshot the certificate of completion, and bring it to class. 1. Follow the first 2 steps in the box at left but take the AYSO - 8U Official course and pass the exam; click AYSOU button on your Volunteer page, then Training Library on left menu, Refereeing (View Courses), 8U Official Course Online. Once you pass the exam please save/screenshot and/or print your certificate and bring it to one of the in-person 8U training meetings (8/22 or 8/27).
